Course Description:
“Themes from the Old Testament” is a dynamic and soul-enriching course that brings to life the powerful stories, timeless lessons, and divine encounters of ancient times. Rooted in the rich narratives of the Hebrew Scriptures, this course guides students through God’s unfolding relationship with humanity — from the awe-inspiring act of creation to the covenant with Abraham, from the prophetic leadership of Moses and Elijah to the bravery of Daniel and the reforms of King Josiah.
Designed to stir the heart and shape the mind, this course explores enduring themes such as
obedience and disobedience,
faith and courage,
justice and leadership, and
the consequences of greed. Through these narratives, students will not only learn about historical figures and events but also engage critically with the moral and spiritual values that remain relevant in today’s world.
Students will be inspired to:
- Reflect on their personal faith and values,
- Embrace responsibility and ethical leadership,
- Develop courage in the face of challenges, and
- Apply biblical principles to real-life situations.
Interactive discussions, role plays, reflective essays, and creative presentations will transform these ancient texts into living lessons for the 21st-century learner.
Outcome: By the end of the course, students will have a deeper understanding of God’s character, humanity’s purpose, and the moral compass needed to live a life of integrity and impact.
